Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What is the total sum, if any, of redundancy payments made to staff at ministries, departments and agencies, if any, for which the Minister is responsible during the period 27 November 2023 - 17 September 2024, by month and agency?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Independent Children's Monitor made no redundancy payments to staff during the period 27 November 2023 to 17 September 2024. I am also advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that there was one voluntary redundancy process initiated by the Ministry in April 2024. There were also formal change proposals in four business groups with decisions being released in June 2024 and the new structures taking effect 30 September 2024. The table attached shows the total sum of confirmed redundancy compensation paid per month between 27 November 2023 and 17 September 2024. This table only includes people who have left the Ministry due to either voluntary redundancy or a formal change process in the requested period.
