47781 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police

Written Question
Published date: 15 Oct 2025
47781 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police: What was the average wait time, if any, for customer service lines, if any, in the Minister's departments, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 October 2025?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the information requested is too broad to be reasonably compiled. Police operate numerous public-facing lines that could be considered customer service channels, each serving different functions. The information requested is not readily available and would require considerable effort to assemble. The time and associated cost in obtaining this information are not, in my view, justifiable. I refer the Member to Police’s latest published Annual Report found here annual-report-2023-2024.pdf. This report includes relevant data such as median response times to emergency calls and traffic events from 2019 to 2024. The Serious Fraud Office only operates one public facing line and as such has this data readily available. See attached for a table which provides the average times. This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Questions 47777, 47785, 47791, 47793, 47800 (2025).
