Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Conservation: How many international flights in total, if any, counting each leg of a journey as an individual flight, has each department or entity that the Minister is responsible for paid for in the period from November 27th 2023 to August 1st 2025; and what was the total cost broken down by month, destination, cabin class and the purpose of the flight?

Hon Tama Potaka: I am advised that the Department of Conservation has paid for 328 individual international flights (counting each leg of the journey as an individual flight) between 27 November 2023 and 1 August 2025. This includes flights to Australia and the Pacific Islands, that are classed as ‘short haul’. Please refer to the attached table for the requested breakdown of total cost by month and purpose. I am further advised that the total cost cannot be broken down by cabin class and final destination in the way requested by the member without substantial manual collation due to how the information is recorded.
