Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Customs: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies for which savings have been identified resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service, if any, how many roles have been identified for disestablishment, listed by role title, remuneration band, and business group (or equivalent organisational unit) as at 30 May 2024?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that as at 30 May 2024, the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) has identified 110 positions for disestablishment as a result of Customs’ organisational change programme. 41 of these roles are vacant as at 30 May 2024. I refer the Member to the attached table which provides a breakdown of positions for disestablishment, broken down by role titles, remuneration bands, and business groups.
