Tangi Utikere to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises: Further to Reply 8865 (2026), how many complaints or formal representations has NZ Post received from retail partners specifically regarding the current restructuring of its shared service network — that is, closures announced or implemented from 1 January 2025 onwards — broken down by (a) region and (b) the nature of the complaint or representation?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that NZ Post has received complaints or formal representations from 26 of the 142 retail partners impacted by the changes to NZ Post’s urban retail network announced in January 2026. These complaints appealed the decision to remove NZ Post services from their store. The number of complaints broken down by region is outlined in the attached table.
