8990 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Education: What schools, if any, in the Northcote electorate have had changes, increases or decreases, in their operational funding since 01/01/2024, by school name, funding change and date?

Hon Erica Stanford: I refer the Member to the attached Table 1, which shows operational funding paid for Quarter 1 (Q1) for January to March 2024 and Quarter 2 (Q2) for April to June 2024 for the Northcote electorate. Funding is paid quarterly in advance. Q1 operational funding is the largest funding quarter as it includes some components that are paid for the whole year and are not included in Q2 funding, such as donations funding. I also refer the Member to the attached Table 2, which shows the movement in estimated annual operational funding. In Q1, estimated annual operational funding is calculated on the schools’ provisional roll. In Q2, estimated annual operational funding is calculated on the schools’ actual roll as at 1 March 2024, plus a new entrant adjustment (where applicable). The new entrant adjustment allows for children that will start school throughout the year. Schools whose roll have increased above their Provisional roll will receive an increase in funding, and those who have lower rolls will receive less.14 out of the 20 schools in the Northcote electorate have funding rolls higher than their provisional rolls, therefore estimated annual operational funding has increased (refer Table 2).
