Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many staff were made redundant, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, listed by role title, date of redundancy, type of employment, and duration of service?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, 298 staff left by way of redundancy as a result of structural change processes and a voluntary redundancy process. The Ministry has some individuals in positions that have been made redundant but are in transitional roles, these individuals have not been included in this number as the Ministry is still working through redeployment options with these individuals. I refer the member to the attached tables, which provide the number of staff who have left by way of redundancy between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, broken down by role title, type of employment, duration of service and date of redundancy.
