1441 (2026). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Vocational Education: What was the total enrolments in New Zealand Institutes of Polytechnics and or Te Pukenga in 2025, listed by learning provider and equivalent full-time students?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I have interpreted this written parliamentary question as relating to provider-based enrolments at the New Zealand Institute of Technology (NZIST) (formerly Te Pūkenga) in 2025. I am advised by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) that 2025 full-year enrolment values at New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST) are not yet available. Interim values for 2025 will be available at the end of February 2026. Please see the attached table for TEC funding-eligible enrolments at NZIST as at the August 2025 Single Data Return (SDR), broken down by the different polytechnic business divisions within NZIST.
