82374 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: What evidence, if any, does MPI have to substantiate the claims of MPI that “the impact of harmful pests and diseases in New Zealand is reduced”?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: MPI is focused on stopping pests and diseases from arriving and entering New Zealand and eliminating or managing those that do enter. MPI does this in partnership with the primary industries through the Government Industry Agreement for Biosecurity Readiness and Response and the Biosecurity Business Pledge. Our performance in meeting this goal, is reported in our annual reports.
