82345 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: What, if any, consultation has taken place with Māori communities regarding the impact of Caulerpa on Māori food sources and the long-term sustainability of marine resources?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: There has been significant engagement on a wide range of aspects regarding Caulerpa with iwi and hapū since the first detection of exotic Caulerpa in July 2021. I have committed $15 million of new investment into the battle against exotic Caulerpa.
