Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the Responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I am advised that as of 18 December 2024 DPMC has four full-time equivalent staff working in the Auckland Policy Office. This includes a Chief Advisor, Principal Advisor, Senior Advisor and Advisor. Staff are engaged in a range of matters relating to the Prime Minister and the Minister for National Security and Intelligence portfolios. I am advised that as of 18 December 2024, NEMA has six full-time equivalent staff working in the Auckland Policy Office. This includes a Senior Advisor Operational Readiness, a Senior Technical Writer, a Senior Advisor Capability Development, a Senior Advisor Planning, a Senior Regional Emergency Management Advisor, and a Regional Emergency Management Advisor. Staff are engaged in a range of matters relating to the Emergency Management and Recovery portfolio.
