82288 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many Ministry of Social Development staff are currently assigned to, or working in the Auckland Policy Office and what are their job titles, responsibilities and FTE’s?
Hon Louise Upston: Currently the following Regional Public Service staff are engaged with the APO:
Jules Lynch
• Role: Regional Public Service Commissioner
• Responsibilities: Liaising with the Head of APO (Michael Quinn), chairing monthly Auckland Regional Leadership Group hui, and driving collaborative initiatives
• FTE: Not permanently based at the APO but engaged regularly through meetings and leadership activities.
1 Lead Advisor
• Role: key liaison between Regional Public Service and other agencies based at the APO.
• Responsibilities: Works from the APO outside monthly hui to strengthen relationships and support cross-agency collaboration.
• FTE: Part-time presence at the APO as needed.
2 Directors
• Role: - Provide strategic direction and contribute to the leadership of Regional Public Service involvement in the APO.
• Responsibilities: Occasionally attend and participate in meetings.
• FTE: Engagement with the APO is on an as-needed basis.
Overall, the Regional Public Service team utilise the APO flexibly to ensure effective engagement and partnership delivery without full-time dedicated roles stationed there.
