Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that the Auckland Policy Office does not independently direct policy work. Instead, it provides a shared space that enables various agencies to work in proximity, thereby fostering collaboration on public policy and operational matters affecting Auckland. Any policy work involving the Department of Internal Affairs would be carried out as a part of its own mandate, in collaboration with other agencies as required.
