Hon Penny Simmonds: The Auckland Policy Office does not independently direct policy work. Instead, it provides a shared space that enables agencies to work in proximity, fostering collaboration on public policy and operational matters affecting Auckland. Any policy work involving the Ministry for the Environment would be carried out as part of its own mandate, in collaboration with other agencies as required. This answer should be read in conjunction with Annex A which provides further information on the role and function of the Auckland Policy Office.
