82196 (2024). Shanan Halbert to the Minister of Health: On what occasions, if any, has the Minister met with representatives, staff or officials from the Auckland Policy Office, listed by date and title of meeting?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: The Auckland Policy Office (APO) is a collaborative arrangement involving approximately 20 government agencies working together to provide aligned advice on public policy affecting Auckland. The APO also functions as a shared facility that provides agencies with a central Auckland presence for staff supporting national policy or operational functions. Staff based at the APO are employed by their respective agencies, as the APO is not a standalone agency and does not employ its own staff. The APO does not independently direct policy work and does not provide separate advice to Ministers. Advice to Ministers is provided by the relevant portfolio agencies.
