Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Does the Minister still hold the view that monthly reporting includes "detailed analysis" and "more meaningful" data, and if so, when can we expect to see the October, November, and December entries uploaded on the 2024 Monthly Benefits Update Commentary Archive?

Hon Louise Upston: Yes. As part of its regular business processes, the Ministry reviews priorities and allocates resources to new and emerging work for example, new quarterly reporting on Government targets, and stops reporting that is no longer required, such as the Monthly Benefits Update A3 and Commentary. The monthly data file, which provides updated benefit numbers is still regularly published on the Ministry’s website. The latest figures are available at https://www.msd.govt.nz/about-msd-and-our-work/publications-resources/statistics/monthly-reporting/ December 2024 data will be released on 24 January 2025, as advised in the Release timetable on the Monthly Reporting page.
