82027 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister for Rail: What advice, if any, has the Minister received between 11 and 17 December 2024 on the steps needed to transfer a railway wagon onto a non-rail enabled ferry?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: None. They are typically crane lifted. Instead, when Aratere is in the dry dock, KiwiRail lifts freight on wagons, onto trucks, and drives them on.
