Camilla Belich to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: What advice, if any, has the Minister had regarding how the Employment Relations (Pay Deductions for Partial Strikes) Amendment Bill meets New Zealand’s commitment to provide adequate protection to workers against acts of anti-union discrimination in employment?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am committed to meeting New Zealand’s international obligations. The Government received advice on these obligations and took this into account in its decision making. The Bill was also assessed by the Ministry of Justice for compliance with the Bill of Rights Act.
