81943 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Associate Minister of Housing: Does the Minister believe that the Ministry of Social Development has appropriate processes in place to record and keep track of the numbers of people requesting access to emergency housing or social housing each month, including those who are not offered the opportunity to apply or be assessed for emergency housing or social housing; if so, why?
Hon Tama Potaka: Yes. If an individual or whānau presents to the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) expressing homelessness, the Ministry will work through potential housing support options, including emergency housing and social housing. All housing applications are recorded along with the outcome of that decision.
