81932 (2024). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: What consultation, if any, has the Minister had with unions or union representatives regarding the minimum wage rate for 2025?

Hon Brooke van Velden: The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment consulted the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions (NZCTU) on potential changes to the minimum wage rates to take effect in April 2025. NZCTU was invited to provide a written submission on the 2024 Minimum Wage Review. Consultation outside of government was limited to the social partners (BusinessNZ and NZCTU), as per standard practice for a streamlined minimum wage review.
