81817 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: In the event of a large-scale culling operation for poultry due to bird flu, what measures are in place to ensure there is an adequate supply of carbon dioxide (CO2) for mass poultry disposal?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: Industry and MPI have been working together to ensure that individual business owners can procure the materials they need to undertake operations. MPI has been working with the poultry industry and suppliers of CO2 to understand the capacity and capability of CO2 procurement nationally. Further, I refer the member to WPQ 81806 (2024).
