81795 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: How many ‘front-office’ roles did MPI employ at the discovery of the H7N6 bird flu incursion and how many of these roles did MPI employ as at 14 October 2023?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and Biosecurity New Zealand (BNZ) do not use the term ‘front-office’, but define ‘frontline’ staff as statutory roles such as biosecurity teams at the border. Importantly, MPI and BNZ have not made any reductions to frontline services and statutory roles.
