81792 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister for Biosecurity: What proposals are there to reallocate staff, or increase the number of staff to deal with a potential incursion of H5N1?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Ministry for Primary Industries, with support from its One Health partners, have prepared response plans for H5N1. When assessing if the reallocation of staff is needed, agencies will consider a number of factors, including when and where H5N1 arrives, how quickly it spreads around the country and if the disease is detected in commercial poultry flocks.
