81151 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the recommended focus area ‘Te Aho o Te Kahu to work in partnership with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora and the Māori Health Authority Te Aka Whai Ora to refine and implement a new approach to cancer treatment and support that wraps a metaphorical kahu (cloak) of customised, holistic support around cancer patients and their whānau’ under ‘System-wide solution 1: A transformative approach to cancer treatment and support’ in the Cancer Control Agency ’Cancer Services Planning’ document?
Hon Simeon Brown: The Cancer Control Agency continues to take actions to ensure that all New Zealanders have timely, quality access to cancer treatment. This includes access to the new medicines funded by Pharmac as a result of our Government’s $604 million funding up-lift for cancer treatments and additional new medicines.
