81124 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the recommended focus area ‘Develop and implement a future focused approach to the cancer workforce that facilitates equitable distribution of care and treatment (geographically and for Māori and Pacific in particular) and enables new models of care and ways of working’ under ‘System-wide solution 4: Workforce’ in the Cancer Control Agency ’Cancer Services Planning’ document?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, work continued on developing a cancer transformation programme focussed on specialist services. The Cancer Control Agency and Health New Zealand are core partners in this activity, which will include cancer service planning.
