Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the recommended focus area ‘Develop and implement a future focused approach to the cancer workforce that creates a digitally capable workforce that is able to use telehealth to its full potential’ under ‘System-wide solution 4: Workforce’ in the Cancer Control Agency ’Cancer Services Planning’ document?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that a telehealth course is in place, which is designed to provide the information and tools a clinician needs to prepare for, and conduct, effective, culturally competent, and patient-centred telehealth consultations. I am further advised that during the April to June 2024 quarter, 25 Health New Zealand telehealth roles provided support for clinical users, patients and their whanau, and administration staff.
