Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter April to June 2024 on the recommended focus area ‘Further development of processes to ensure staff involved in cancer care are trained and able to communicate effectively with patients and whānau, in a considerate and culturally safe way’ under ‘System-wide solution 4: Workforce’ in the Cancer Control Agency ’Cancer Services Planning’ document?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the April to June 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand was working with the Cancer Control Agency to align the Health Workforce Plan with the Cancer Services Planning document and areas where there are the greatest workforce gaps.
