81105 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 to ‘Implement routine monitoring of workforce needs assessment across the cancer continuum’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (July to September 2024) the Cancer Control Agency and Health NZ collaborated to ensure the health system’s workforce needs to deliver sustainable, high-quality cancer services are planned for and met through Health Workforce Plans, including working closely with Health NZ to inform workforce decisions and future planning.
