81100 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 to ‘Lead efforts to inform cancer research priorities that will support the outcomes of the plan’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (July to September 2024) the Cancer Control Agency continued to meet with leaders across the research sector to discuss the Government's priorities, including the '5+5' approach as outlined in the Government Policy Statement on Health released in June 2024. In addition, the agency started planning for a Research to Action hui which was held in October, to better connect and ensure alignment between cancer policy researchers and those working in the cancer policy space.
