Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 to ‘Develop and implement people- and whānau-centred care guidelines’ under Outcome 2: New Zealanders experience equitable cancer outcomes, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the July to September quarter, Health NZ and the Cancer Control Agency developed a programme plan that has resulted in a more distributed model for provision of cancer medicines. The Cancer Control agency also completed Model of Care documents for both radiation oncology and systemic anti cancer therapy. I am further advised that once the National Cancer Clinical Network is in place, it will establish a work programme which will include development of guidelines and standards.
