81084 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 to ‘Implement approaches to minimise harm from alcohol’ under Outcome 3: New Zealanders have fewer cancers, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, building cross-sector collaboration on alcohol harm minimisation continued. In addition, Health New Zealand contributed to the evidence base for a health promotion policy on alcohol; continued work in preventing alcohol harm through settings-based approaches in sport environments and neighbourhoods; supported local communities to develop their own alcohol harm prevention initiatives, and continued to develop social marketing and information to support behaviour change.
