Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Deploy increased access to stem cell therapy through a national pathway' included on page 8 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that an uplift in investment for stem cell transplant has been confirmed in Auckland and Christchurch for the 2024/25 financial year. I am further advised that a monitoring and reporting framework has been outlined, and that the Cancer Control Agency has produced a model of care for transplant cellular therapy which centres are assessing themselves against. In addition, national clinical service planning for stem cell transplant services is near completion.
