Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Develop an operational performance framework that enables a real-time view of cancer services to support operational delivery and cancer service planning' included on page 9 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised Health New Zealand is developing a Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT) dashboard that provides a single view of national and district FCT performance. Content will continue to be developed over time. A non-surgical oncology wait list dashboard is also under development, which will provide a live view on the numbers of patients waiting for treatment. I am further advised that Health NZ and the Cancer Control Agency to continue to work together on improving data collection, quality, and standardisation, with a focus on data being automated rather than manually collected. In addition, work is underway to develop a suite of balancing measures which will provide greater visibility on how cancer services are performing across the health system
