81053 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Develop a national cancer workforce plan that reflects cancer service planning and new models of care, and provides adequate training places to meet projected demand' included on page 9 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand's Health Workforce Plan 2024 highlights strategic workforce priorities for strengthening cancer care. This, along with clinical services plans being developed for radiation oncology and bone marrow transplant, is a step towards a National Cancer Workforce Plan which will be mapped to new models of care and anticipated future demand.
