Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Implement standardisation of Integrated Operations Centres in hospitals' included on page 12 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand has documented an Intergrated Operations Centre definition and principles for districts to implement. I am further advised that an escalation framework has been in place for nine months and is in the process of being reviewed. A revised daily health check – including metrics – has been implemented; a series of workshops has been held to understand current state and what is required from a data and digital perspective, and a future state roadmap has been completed. I am also advised that a consistent approach to oversight, governance, and operational decision-making for acute flow patients has been documented in the acute flow operational standards.
