Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Understand the reasons for delayed discharge of inpatients who are medically fit and action elimination of barriers' included on page 12 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that as at 16 December 2024, a stocktake to understand regional definitions/processes of discharge had been completed, and a policy drafted with a standardised definition of 'delayed discharge', and requirements for recording and reporting.
