Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Support multidisciplinary teams in primary care, including greater utilisation of allied health professionals to reduce the likelihood of ED presentation and enable discharge from ED' included on page 13 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised Health New Zealand continues to monitor the implementation of new roles within primary care. Comprehensive Primary and Community Care Teams contracts are in place across the country and recruitment into roles is well underway. I am further advised that early reporting shows that the addition of the new primary care roles is helping achieve positive outcomes for those with complex needs.
