Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Ensure data quality and waitlist validation are part of all districts' usual business' included on page 15 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that each Health New Zealand district is conducting waitlist validation as part of its core business. Where specific hotspots have been identified, districts and regions are undertaking clinical reviews of waitlists within the most pressured services. I am further advised that Health NZ's national collections team works with each district on a weekly basis to ensure up to date waitlist information is submitted to national data sets.
