Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has occurred to achieve the initiative 'Ensure consistent, clinically-driven access to community-referred radiology' included on page 17 of High Level Implementation Plans - Achieving the Health Targets, as at 16 December 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the national community-referred radiology (CRR) programme continues to progress. I am further advised that CRR clinical access criteria for 31 exams with computed tomography (CT), ultrasound (US), and x-ray are progressing through clinical endorsement. In addition, I have been advised that detailed design of CRR hubs are due for completion in 2025. These hubs will include general practice liaison roles to triage; provide advice on patient pathways, and audit radiology referrals from primary care.
