80873 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister support a change to a mandatory and suspensory merger regime in New Zealand?

Hon Andrew Bayly: As Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, I want to make sure the Commerce Commission has the tools it needs to ensure competition is working well for the long-term benefit of consumers. I have released a public consultation to seek views on the effectiveness of the voluntary notification regime and if any improvements could be made.
