80850 (2024). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: How will new homeowners be able to enforce liability against self-certified builders, given that building defects for new builds may take years to become apparent?

Hon Chris Penk: The self-certification scheme that the Government announced earlier in the year is being developed. Ensuring consumers are protected from defects is a key part of this work and I look forward to announcing more details in 2025.
