80726 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Finance: Which departments, if any, was the Minister made the lead Minister for Budget 2024 baseline savings exercises?

Hon David Seymour: Cabinet ultimately makes all Budget decisions. Preparation of Budget initiatives, including those for savings, are led by the respective lead Minister responsible for each agency. As Minister for Regulation, I led the Budget initiatives for the Ministry for Regulation. In addition for the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, I was appointed the lead minister because of the wide range of portfolios covered within that agency.
