80711 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: What is the average time for payment of legal aid invoices in respect of criminal proceedings; what is the target time for payment (if there is a target)?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I can advise that for the period 01 December 2023 to 30 November 2024 the average time between the received date and decision date for legal aid invoices relating to criminal proceedings is 9 working days. Legal Aid Services aim to pay all invoices within 15 working days.
