80702 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How many Gang Disruption Units are being operationalised, if any, as at 10 December 2024, by district?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that as at 10 December 2024, 11 Gang Disruption Units (GDU) have been operationalised. All districts have stood up gang disruption units, the breakdown is Northland, Auckland City, Waitematā, Counties Manukau, Waikato, Eastern, Bay of Plenty, Central, Wellington, and districts within the South Island have elected to operate a centralised GDU model based in Canterbury.
