80697 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How many roles, if any, have been established within the National Gang Unit, as at 10 December 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that as at 10 December 2024, the National Gang Unit (NGU) is supported by 24 positions. The NGU forms part of Police’s National Organised Crime Group (NOCG). More than half the NGU roles are currently filled (by either permanent or temporary appointments) and other roles are at different stages of recruitment. The Director NOCG is supported by a NGU Crime Manager, Field Crime Manager, Gang Investigations Senior Supervisor and team of investigations officers, alongside intelligence and performance analysts, capability and development lead, policy and practice advisor and other expert, support and coordination roles. This is also my response for Written Parliamentary Question 80698 (2024).
