Hon Carmel Sepuloni to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many distinct individuals, if any, have accessed (Business Training and Advice Grant) since October 2023; what is the total budget expenditure, if anything, on this initiative since October 2023, listed against the original budget allocation?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that Business Training and Advice Grant is a subset of a category within the Employment multi-category appropriation. Whilst the actual expenditure is higher than the budget in the table attached, at an appropriation level the expenditure is within the appropriation. I refer the Member to the attached tables: • Table 1 provides the actual expenditure and the Budget amount for Business Training and Advice Grant • Table 2 provides the number of distinct clients who accessed Business Training and Advice Grant between 1 October 2023 and 30 November 2024.
