Hon Louise Upston: The Re-establishment grant (Special Needs Grant) does not have its own Budget appropriation but sits under a wider appropriation called Hardship Assistance. Therefore, the Ministry of Social Development is unable to provide a comparison of the actual spend against Budget. I refer the Member to the attached table, which provides the number of distinct clients who received the Re-establishment Grant (Special Needs Grant) from 1 October 2023 to 30 November 2024.
