80630 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health
Written Question
Published date: 23 Dec 2024
80630 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made to address the recommendation 'Mental Health: There must be investment into weather- and climate-related mental health and wellbeing. Many who experience anger, grief, fear, hopelessness, and anxiety are at risk of enduring mental ill-health. Little support has been available, even months after events, even though trauma is still being dealt with. Mental health support must see the acute and chronic effects of extreme weather events and climate change on community wellbeing. Approaches must be designed with and for the social, cultural, geographical, and gendered specifics of affected communities.' as contained in the research into health and wellbeing impacts of adverse weather conditions report for the Ministry of Health dated July 2024, as at 9 December 2024?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I refer the Member to Written Parliamentary Question 79604 (2024).
