80624 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health
Written Question
Published date: 23 Dec 2024
80624 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made to address the recommendation 'Rural health: in New Zealand the Geographical Classification of Health (GCH) identifies rural, remote and isolated communities
and families. We recommend the continued use of the GCH to track both need (e.g., increasing travel times) and system performance for people affected by geographical inequities. Further work can examine how rurality intersects with other priority populations and socio-demographic factors, for example the impact for rural Māori, and the impact for rural areas with high levels of socioeconomic deprivation.' as contained in the research into health and wellbeing impacts of adverse weather conditions report for the Ministry of Health dated July 2024, as at 9 December 2024?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I refer the Member to Written Parliamentary Question 79604 (2024).
