80614 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: Was any central government contribution made to a Mayoral Relief Fund, to help with the cleanup after the Dunedin flooding event in October 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: Central government did not receive a request to contribute to a Mayoral Relief Fund in response to the Dunedin flood events of October 2024. The government provided other forms of support to affected communities, including $50,000 for farmers and growers across Southland and parts of Otago with the classification of a medium-scale adverse event, activating the Temporary Accommodation Service, and through Civil Defence payments administered by the Ministry of Social Development.
